Texas Medicaid Providers: Important New TMHP Login Changes Take Effect July 10, 2026

Updated: 7 days ago

Published by Department of Help

Texas Medicaid providers should prepare now for important changes coming to the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) online portal access system. Beginning July 10, 2026, TMHP will implement additional applications through the TMHP IAMOnline platform, creating a more secure and streamlined experience for providers accessing Medicaid services online.

What Is Changing?

TMHP IAMOnline is becoming the primary access point for many TMHP applications. The platform provides:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Password self-service options

  • Improved security protections for provider accounts

Providers who have not yet activated their TMHP IAMOnline account should do so immediately to avoid disruptions in accessing Medicaid services.

Required Provider Actions

Providers must:

1. Activate Their TMHP IAMOnline Account

Activation emails were sent by TMHP on:

  • June 8, 2026

  • June 15, 2026

If you received an activation email, you must:

  • Log into TMHP IAMOnline

  • Create a password

  • Register Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Complete activation within seven days of receiving the email

2. Register Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

All Texas Medicaid providers will be required to use MFA.

Providers will automatically receive:

  • Email-based MFA

Providers may also choose:

  • Okta Verify

  • Google Authenticator

These applications can be downloaded through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Applications Transitioning to TMHP IAMOnline on July 10, 2026

The following TMHP applications will transition during Release 2:

  • Provider Check Amount

  • Fee Schedule

  • TexMedConnect – Acute Care (AC)

  • TexMedConnect – Long-Term Care (LTC)

  • Remittance & Status (R&S)

Additional applications will be transitioned in future phases.

Important Notice for Existing STEPS Users

Even if your organization already has access to HHSC IAMOnline through the State of Texas Electronic Provider System (STEPS), you must still activate your TMHP IAMOnline account separately to access TMHP applications.
